Heather Anderson is the coordinator of all care, education and operational matters.
Heather has many years' experience as a business owner and operator as well as having been the General Manager
for a variety of companies including a law firm and a large charity. Heather is instrumental in Kiwicare's
recognition as a leader in the childcare community. Kiwicare has been selected by the Ministry of Education
to participate in the pilot Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) professional learning programme
for early childhood education. Kiwicare's contribution featured in the 2006 journal of the Early

Director
Mike Clark MA is the second Director of Kiwicare. He brings to the business his many years' experience as a business consultant working especially in the field of employment relations. Mike provides quality assurance, marketing and risk management support for the team at Kiwicare Pre School. Mike administers our Safety Assist programme which safeguards our children and staff within the health and safety regulations under the Ministry of Health and Department of Labour. Business Advisor
Scott Clark BA, the son of Heather and Mike, who was educated at America's Harvard University and holds a Bachelor of Arts (with honours) from that institution, is an Advisor to Kiwicare Pre School. Scott hopes that Kiwicare Pre Schools will become known as the best early childhood centres in New Zealand. Scott believes the years from 0-5 are the most important in a person's development and that a good education should enable children to believe in themselves, understand their role in the community, and create an intrigue about the world that lasts a lifetime. Scott currently lives in New York and is a Vice President for Sandler O'Neill, a prominent financial services firm. He assists Kiwicare with business ideas, financial planning, marketing and childcare research.
Deputy Chief Executive
Donna Wrack Dip ECE, Adv Dip Ed Mgmt has been with Kiwicare since its inception in 2001 following several years’ experience as a centre manager and as a fully registered teacher. Donna became Deputy CEO in 2011 and is responsible for the smooth operation of all Kiwicare centres with particular emphasis on curriculum planning, assessment of children and the resourcing of the centres.
Donna’s vast experience in all aspects of childcare and the education and management of children means that she is ideally suited to leading Kiwicare into the new millennium. In her spare time Donna plays hockey and is involved in many activities with the community and her family. Donna is always available on 0274400980.
Research & Development Manager
Dr Relinde Tap Dip Tchg ECE, MA, PhD has completed her PhD in Anthropology, has more than 20 years’ experience in early childhood and provides the intellectual underpinning for Kiwicare’s beliefs and practices. As Kiwicare’s Deputy CEO for many years Relinde assisted our founder Heather Anderson with all care, educational and staffing matters and deputised for Heather as necessary. In 2011 Relinde asked to relinquish this role so that she can focus on researching best practice philosophies and develop them into practical programmes for implementation within our centres. This provides Kiwicare with continual renewal and innovation and is a key factor in maintaining our goal of constant development for the achievement of even better outcomes for our children. Chief Financial Officer
Michelle McNicholl has extensive experience and know-how in all aspects of accounting, budgeting and modern office practice. Michelle has previously worked in a variety of financial and office management positions for several companies. Michelle manages Kiwicare’s finance team and is consequently responsible for overseeing a multitude of functions including monthly financial reporting, cash-flow management, financial planning, tax matters, audit preparation, budgeting, purchasing and all other associated matters. In her spare time Michelle enjoys walking, and spending time with her family.
PA to CEO
Melissa Elemani B Business Mgmt Melissa’s passion for education and recognition of its crucial importance for societal development was fostered by her involvement in the running of a local village school in Samoa. Melissa believes that with each child’s uniqueness comes an inbuilt desire to be expressive and creative and that high quality childcare enables children to realise their potential regardless of background. Consequently, as Personal Assistant to our CEO Heather Anderson, Melissa is delighted to be constantly immersed in all aspects of Kiwicare’s childcare practice and management and able to make a practical difference on a daily basis. In her spare time Melissa likes travel, fine art, history and has a keen interest in science particularly astrophysics and astronomy.
Information Technology Manager
Samantha Robinson NCEA MCP. Kiwicare has a belief that the use of modern technology is an important part of good service as it enables our service to respond to parents/caregivers needs quickly and appropriately. This is how we are able to provide our wonderful children’s profile books and fabulous language training through our computer linked proactive boards. It also enables us to ensure we have accurate recording for auditing and funding purposes. It also ensures you can hear the children or speakers at our concerts and training days. Fortunately Samantha has the skills and qualifications to ensure camera, videos, microphones and computers work. She also enjoys all things to do with health and sports.
Public Relations Manager
Palwinder Rehal MA, MPhil, Dip Comms has many years’ overseas experience in role modelling for young children. Palwinder’s communication skills open many opportunities for parents, teachers and caregivers to readily discuss their needs. She takes a very active interest in all Kiwicare events to promote social skills, sportsmanship, open communication and language development. She has a calm, confident and friendly personality which parents, caregivers, teachers and children readily relate to. This makes her the ideal person to help teachers and children gain confidence and progress towards their own independence. Palwinder is contactable on 021 2459141.
Human Resources Manager
Chithra Sudhir MA, BSc, BEd. Kiwicare is delighted that Chithra after her many years in assisting significant companies with their accounts including payroll now manages the payroll for Kiwicare. As well Chithra uses her accounting skills to ensure that the audit procedure at Kiwicare centres meets the requirements of the Ministry of Education audit team and provides timely and accurate accounting information to the Kiwicare Finance Team. Chithra also has put in place systems to ensure statistical data is accurate. In her spare time Chithra enjoys travelling and spending time with her family.
Financial Manager
Neerja Sury Bcom, Dip Office Mgmt comes from a banking background which has assisted her well in her role of Financial Manager. Neerja’s tasks include bank reconciliations and end of month accounts. Neerja works closely with the centres on their budgets to ensure that they manage these efficiently.
Neerja enjoys the challenges that her role provides and endeavours to find better ways for Kiwicare to manage their resources.
In her spare time Neerja loves walking, watching movies, cooking & travelling.
Business Property Manager
Ian Mortlock is a qualified carpenter and joiner, with over 45 years’ experience in all facets of the construction industry and is now responsible for maintaining Kiwicare’s buildings, properties, toys, appliances and equipment. During his long career Ian has been site manager for numerous residential, commercial and industrial projects and while working for Scarbro Construction was the site manager in charge of building most of Kiwicare’s centres. It is therefore particularly appropriate that he now works with Kiwicare to care for the buildings he constructed. Ian is assisted by Mike Byrnes.
Office Manager
Jenny Morris as the Office Manager of Kiwicare Support Office Jenny has a very busy and varied role, from entering invoices and making payments to ordering the wonderful resources that Kiwicare provides to its centres. She is also the friendly voice at the end of the phone when you call Support Office. Jenny sometimes works within the centres assisting in the office.
In her spare time Jenny loves the beach and walking.
